My floor lamp has rust on the bottom – should I throw it away or can something be done?

clean w/ naval jelly (hardware store) &steel wool. paint w/ rust oleum
suggest if you want to keep it , clean off rust,spray paint it with rust paint,almost all hardware stores carry it. Another suggestion is to clean then glue a base on the existing base,maybe a piece of felt
you can put something under the lamp or sand it and spray paint it
You can always put clear nail polish on rusty spots to prevent them from spreading or staining your carpets.
